I wanted to take this opportunity to say thanks for all the help on the forum. I've been a lurker for several months and have been soaking up the wisdom on the forum while I've been working through a few issues with this bike.
A little history, I picked this up for a friend of mine in Michigan who was looking for a K-bike. It needed some work so I've been riding it/fixing it for a few months and have put on about 1000 miles or so. He decided to keep what he's got, so it's up for sale. Since I bought it I replaced the fuel pump and filter, all fuel hoses, spark plugs (NGK iridium), new fluids everywhere, had the corbin seat recovered, replaced the front brake bobbins, and so on. I'm waiting on the front brake switch and 6 more bobbins (they were out at the dealer). They should be to me by the end of the week. The only two things that I didn't fix, but wasn't that worried about were the gas gauge (I just didn't find a good used one in time) and the heated grips (one side works). The gas light works, and everyone in Florida has heated grips during the summer, so they were not a high priority for me.
All and all, it's a very nice bike and as near as I can tell, it needs nothing to be ready for a nice long road trip. The tires have about a half of their life left in them and look good. The bags are not color matched, but the locks all match and are fine. The ABS works as it should and the brakes are good. The body is very good. It looks like it had crash bars in the past, but it doesn't anymore. The only crack in the bodywork that I remember seeing is on the left lower part of the fairing. It looks like it was tipped over, not laid down, and the bar bent and put a fracture in the plastic. There is also a small ding in the gas tank that looks like it is from a belt buckle or something like it.
The bike just turned over 89k and will probably have a few more on it by the end of the week. I'm in Gainesville, Florida and would consider delivering it to about anywhere in the South East. I'm asking $3800 or best offer. I'm not posting it anywhere else until I get the switch and the bobbins finished later this week. The best way to reach me is via email as that I don't have a cell phone, but if need to call, I can be reached at 352-283-8771. My email is boo_laia@hotmail.com
