The mirror glass is held in place by friction betweel the metal ball which is attached to the mirror body, and a plastic cup on the back of the mirror - think of a hip joint Wink
The mirror cup is worn (or maybe the ball is greasy).

Crack the mirror off the bike, and whack the body face down onto a thick cloth to remove the glass (This is an FAQ).
Clean the joint thoroughly, and wrap a thin muslin around the ball before you press the mirror back on.

That should cure it, else the cup is badly worn and you need to replace the mirror glass.

If it's still loose. I'd whack the glass back out again. Put the mirror housing back on the bike. Coat the ball in RTV/silicone sealant, pop it back in, adjust it to where it's best for you and let the sealant hold it in place.

If it's the ball that's worn, not the cup, you could always buy a new mirror glass - about $25 at the dealer.

Or coat the ball with Loc-Tite green.

Use a soldering iron to melt/embed the end of some 24SWG tinned-copper wire into the outside of the plastic cup, then tightly wrap about five turns around the cup and solder-melt the trailing end into place. Mine has worked fine like this for over a year now.
