OK, I've finally got my hands on a K11RS rear wheel with the intention of fitting it to my LT.

The LT rear wheel is 17" and the RS wheel is 18" so I know I'm gonna have to do some rolling radius calculations, but the eventual result is not critical as I use my Zumo GPS as a speedometer rather than the one in the instrument cluster. This is of course assuming that I can get it even reasonably close without having to use 45 section tyres!!

My question is swingarm based. The K11LT 17" wheel presently has a spacer between wheel and hub, so with wider tyres will I need a thicker spacer for the RS wheel to prevent the tyre interfering with the swingarm, and what's it likely to do regarding wheel alignment?

The previous owner (apparently) says he used it in a K100 16v, but he is not contactable for further details

Is it a worthwhile project or should I put it on e-bay?

Rim diameter does not matter. TIRE diameter does. The difference is about 1% and both LT and RS use the same speedometer so you won't see a noticable change there. More importantly, the ABS pulses will be about the same so your ABS brain should be kept happy.

All K bikes have the same spacers so you'll want to keep that.

K100RS4V and K1100RS use the same rear wheel - 4.5 x 18. (K1 and some R bikes too.)

Larry in LA has been running an RS rear on his LT for a while now and is happy with it and is using radials.

I have a spare LT front/RS rear set of wheels and plan to have some BT020 radials mounted next week.

Welcome to the world of "from the rear of an RS, it looks like the tire isn't centered under the fender". And it still handles OK. (???)

Mk 93 K1100RS looks like that two, like it's kicked towards the exhaust pipe a tad when aligning with the rear fender as the viual clue.
Handles straight & tru at all speeds.
Just a BMW kind of personaility traight maybe?

I had the rear wheel off just a couple weeks ago for replacment. So, no riding one night. Nutin to do, didn't feel like reading. Pulled off the rear fender's. Cleaned up everything, did the rear brake pads, checked all the bolts, cleaned & polished it all up, put it back together. Yup, wen the new tire rolled in, still off set a wee bit.
Still handles good too.

I went to a 17" wheel on the back of my RS to give me a greater tire selection. It seemed to me that there weren't very many 18" tires to choose from....
