Saw a few other K1100RS this weekend. Did not see another with the seat that I have.
Anyone identify which seat this is?

Looks like a factory "comfort" seat that's been recovered. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

This looks just like my seat. What I ended up doing was taking my stock uncomfortable comfort seat, removing the cover and foam and taking a cover and foam, the exact same one you have off of a K100 seat and putting it on my original seat pan. I love the seat and after trying a bunch of other seats I still go back to this one. My only complaint is that because it is so smooth I slide forward in it. I also like that there are no welts on the sides by your thighs like the corbans have and this reduces chafing on long rides.

I have 50k+ in various Corbin seats riding L-O-N-G days - the longest being 36 hours coast to coast. Much of my riding has been in Levis or Draggin Jeans. Never been chafed.
You've coulde just taken your K100 seat and mounted in n your K1100. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Actually I couldn't. The bottom of the k100 seat extended down about another 1/2 inch more than my K1100 seat. When I switched the foam and cover I had to cut off the extra 1/2 inch of foam to get it to fit in my K1100 seat pan. _________________ Rich

Was it a four valve K100? I don't think the 2 valve Ks would have room with the toolbox under the seat.
The stock seat that came on my 93 LT had the seat pan sticiking down under the rider too. Not sure if that would work on an ABS II bike. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

OK, it's a comfort seat.
Would I gain any height if I went to a different factory BMW seat or to a Corbin? I am trying to RAISE my rearend position to "unbend" my knees. I have the opposite problem from those whose legs are too short for a normal seat. I have a 35" inseam.
My abused 50+ y.o. knees are starting to complain a lot on longer trips and if I could get closer to a 90 degree knee bend (they are now bent about 120 degrees) I probably wouldn't feel as many complaints. It was pretty bad this weekend.

A Corbin Dual Tour would be about the same I think - possibly even a little lower. A Corbin Dual Sport might raise you a tad form that seat. A stock LT seat would raise you a little - but your butt would never forgive you. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

What I gained from my Corbin seat wasn't height, because it actually sat me lower, but rather it sat me more towards the rear of the bike. I was able to gain 3 things from it.
1. less leg bend,
2. more knee room at the fairing, and
3. able to flat foot at a stop.

Yeah John the Corbins actually sit you further back thus allowing more knee room. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

Ref #3, I found that too, mainly because the Corbin is slimmer than standard close to the tank. I can cope now even with a 29" inside leg (inseam). _________________ Regards Tim,
