I've had enough time with the Triumph Owners Site (RAT) to now know how much I miss this site. Ted and the rest of you do a great job of keeping the site in great condition and with out having to be Axx Hxxxs in the process.
Not exactly sure just what a "POSTING WHORE" is....but I've been branded one there and banned from it for 3 months (although they can keep it now for all I care). I've never gotten a reprimand from any site in my short life on the WEB....so this whole thing hit me out of the blue. It's one of most confusing sites (with an unbelievable amount of rules and restrictions) I've ever been on and they are always looking for people to upgrade their access to the site by paying for the privilege....along with a constant barrage of vendor advertising. It's fairly obvious that it's no longer a owers group site...but a business that is looking to make money. I've pretty much written the site off as a place I will no longer visit or frequent.
I've been spoiled by the K11OG and other site's that I'm a member of....
I have however switched over to a true owners web site for the TR, Sprint ST..... http://www.sprintowners.com/
It reminds me of the early days when Ted started up the K11OG...not much traffic yet. But I suspect that will change with time as other members like myself get disgusted with the RAT administrators diatribe of mean spirited pettiness.
BTW I'm still loving the ST...although my insurance rating has gotten better with out any new tickets and I'm once again looking at the Connie 14 as an alternative to the TR.
Anyway....all you guys are great here and I'm glad to see lots of you are still hanging in there with your K-baby's. I noted that someone has finally done, what appears to be, a clean install of the K100 radiator....I had always wanted to do that....just never made it happen....good luck though!
Thanks Ted for letting me be a part of this site still...even after becoming disloyal to the K line....and I especially appreciate being able to come over here and rant about nothing that is even remotely related to K11 owners, yet is still tolerated....that says a lot about those running the site and the people that are members _________________ REDBRICK, '96RS (formerly owned), K11OG#5

That rant will cost you $19.95.
Now a word from our sponsor........
Yes Ted has done a good job of having a true Owners site here.
I'm sure it will be here for a long time. Although some may move on...like myself....we all know BRICKS weather well and canstand the test of time. _________________ Mike Gullery

I stopped going there myself. Way too stuffy. Not to mention I think some of the mods have red a black posters of themselves stuck on thier walls.
They deleted a post of mine, I argued it and came to the realization I wanted nothing more to do with the site. _________________ '96 K1100 LT se

Hey Mike...just round it off to $20 and give me your postal. Hope all is well with you...yes I couldn't agree more. But I am of the opinion that the "Brick" engine bikes are more likely to live long and weather more.
Don't get me wrong....but I've been hearing quit a few comments about the new generation of K bikes that doesn't inspire me. In fact I just read the most recent Motorcycle Consumer News and it had quit a few people reporting serious problems with rear ends...along with the GS's having similar problems. I hope your bike doesn't give you any problems....your one of the good guys. And hey don't be a stranger when you come down south. Do you still have my cell number? _________________ REDBRICK, '96RS (formerly owned), K11OG#5

Yep, you're stored in my cell under "K - Allen"
I'll let you know when I'm down there. Johnny O and I are tenatively planning some sort of SoCal ride the second weekend of December. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

WOW- an actual BANNED personality. Can I have your autograph?
Actually, when forum administration feels the need to delete certain posts and ban a contributor they are taking themselves and their self-important forum FAR too seriously. WTF!!! _________________ John & Cathy

After I sold my beloved K (note here.....I have pretty much given up on BMW's line of bikes....I hear entirely to many owners having expensive problems with them in the long run and after my one and only experience with owning a R11RT, I've pretty much concluded they wouldn't be on my list), I had been looking very hard at the Yami-FJ and the Concourse. Unfortunately the FJ didn't come in any colors I could live with, although it was probably my top choice. Next was the new Connie 14...while being new I was skeptical and wanted to wait for any bugs to be shaken out of a new bike. Mean while I was checking insurance costs....the FJ wasn't going to hit the pocket book to hard...but I was getting quotes of $1500 to $2500 on the C14....way to much of a hit. I ended up going with the TR-SST and have been relatively happy with it so far...other then it having a problem lately with the thermostat....had a couple of runs in hot weather and it kept puking out the coolant in 90+ heat when stopped.
Anyway, my insurance had jumped even with the SST...so I called my niece who's at a local insurance broker. Prior to that I was looking at around $800 for the SST....however she got me down to $500 with a new carrier. I recently asked her to run the two other bikes I had been interested in (FJ & C14) and the C14 came back at another $25 for the year....I about fell out of my seat. So I'm looking at the possibility of changing some time in the future. While I like the SST the wind protection is considerably less then on my old K and I'm getting tired of being beat up by the wind.
Wait a minute are you talking about the RAT patch on my signature? If you are, I should tell you that has nothing to do with the RAT site I'm referring to....the RAT patch is a logo for the Riders Association of Triumph and is Triumph owned. The RAT site I'm referring to is a privately owned business. So I probably wouldn't drop it until such time as I change bikes. I've never been one for owning more then one bike at a time....although if I had more disposable income I would love to have a custom modified 94-R-1000 converted to a RS fairings with a British racing green paint job, ported, polished and balanced, kick starter converted with some beautiful dual Staintuners. Yeah I still hold a special place in my heart for BMW's...but hey why stop there, if I had even more disposable income I'd locate a '97K11LT and have a very good friend do some major creative work and convert it to a K12 engine....etc. etc. etc.. _________________ REDBRICK, '96RS (formerly owned), K11OG#5

Yeah Allen I still have your cell#.
Unfortunately When I come south I'm usually in a cage for family purposes. I'll keep you in mind if I get down there on the GT. _________________ Mike Gullery
