I'm posting this mostly for Guilherme but if anyone else has a TomTom Rider you might find this useful.
Up until the recent release of the TomTom GPS software they had an SDK which allowed users to do a fair amount of customization. The SDK is no longer supported by TomTom but you can still take advantage of it.
TRIPMASTER:
The is 3rd party freeware that enables you to log tracks in a variety of formats. IT does ome other stuff too but all I care about is track logging, It runs in the background and steals a few processing cycles from the normal software now and then but is good for track logging.
With the latest version of TomTom software the Tripmaster setup screens are jumbled but you can get around that by modifying the tripmaster config.txt file manually with Windows Notepad.
Here's what my Tripmaster config.txt looks like:
| Quote: | [Log files parameters]
trackperiod 20
trackdistance 0.5
trackcourse 10
trackformat gpx
tracksaving new
logfilename tm20080916_121332.gpx

[Other parameters]

speedlimit 0
speedalarm visual
speedinterval 0 50 90 110 130
alarmfilename /mnt/sdcard/tripmaster/speed_alarm.ogg

bootstart yes
(bootstart yes makes the tripmaster software load and log automatically so it's always logging unless I turn it off)
displayaltitude yes 30
alarmperiod no 10
accelerometer 30.5556

CUSTOMIZING THE MENUS
Using TomTom SDK commands you can build your own custom menu. I have my menu triimmed down and also added items for the Tripmaster software and the TomTom document reader which can view text, html and image(gif/bmp/jpeg) files.
Here's what my custom menu file looks like. It's stored in the sdkregistry folder on the SD card. The file is named tomtom.mnu. Looking at this should give you an idea of how to structure the menu file:
| Quote: | MENUBLOCK|BLOCK_MAIN|BTM_GPS_POSITION|
MENUPAGE|TASK_PAGE1|Main Menu 1 of 3|
MENUITEM|TASK_NAVIGATE_TO|
MENUITEM|TASK_MENU_FIND_ALTERNATIVES|

I was able to get the jukebox to appear on my 1st edition Rider menu but it didn't work. Perhaps on the second version it might work. I'd try both of the following commands in the menu file:
TASK_JUKEBOX
TASK_MULTIMEDIA
More info on TomTom menus:
http://www.opentom.org/Menu_structure
There's a couple of freeware menu editors out there but I found it easy enough just to manually build my own menu in Notepad.
Once you've changed the menu file, you need to reboot the TomTom to load the new menu you created. If you want to go back to the factory menu, just rename the tomtom.mnu file to something else and reboot.
Document and html files you wish to access on the TomTom should be placed in a directory called "text" on the TomTom SD card. I made a small web for my TomTom which has troubleshooting info for K bikes and wiring diagrams. It might come in handy on the road someday.
CUSTOM COLOR SCHEMES
It is also possible to build your own custom color schemes. Here's a link to a TomTom color scheme editor: http://www.colorschemeeditor.com/index.php?lang=EN
I liked the "night vision" like green screen but didn't like the green route and turns so I modified it so it has a yellow route and red turns. My night screen now looks like this:
Place the following file in a directory called schemes on the TomTom SD card and then you can select it as your night color scheme: http://sumdumguy.home.comcast.net/~sumdumguy/tomtom/yel-night.clr
CREATING CUSTOM POI CATEGORY ICONS
If you want to create your own icon for your cutom POI category that is pretty easy. I used Microsoft Paint to make a few of my own.
Once you've created a custom POI category, you will find an "ov2" file in your map directory. (North_America in my case.) For example, if you named the POI category Friends, then the file Friends.ov2 will show up in your map directory. Use MS Paint to create a 24x24 image and save it as 24-bit color under the name Friends.bmp in your map directory. The name of the bmp file needs to exactly match the name of the ov2 file.
STARTUP AND SHUTDOWN SCREENS
Create a 320x240 image in Paint and save it as a 24-bit bmp.
The startup screen should be saved as splash.bmp in the root directory of the TomTom SD card. The shutdown screen should be saved as suspend.bmp in the root directory of the TomTom SD card. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

I use TomTom on my Tilt, a Windows Mobile phone.
I just found an application called ToolsTools that adds some useful stuff, like tracking, auto-switching between night and day mode based on the time of day, and a few other useful bits.
It's not bad for $2 |

Thanks Drake!
I'll study the informations and try to make the mods in my Rider 2.
First I'll make a backup of my maps in my PC, just in case if anything go wrong....
In this case, I'll clean the memory card and load the backup again.
Thanks again, and I'll post the news later.
