I know this was covered some in a recent thread but I'd like to ask: What glove works best with heated grips? Thin enough to feel the grip but enough insulation to keep the back of your hand warm. Hopefully a little armor too. _________________ Jim

I've been looking around at winter gloves. The RevIt Farenhet gloves might work for you. They're insulated with PCM which is a material that supposedly regulates and transfers heat so helps keep the back of your fingers warm with heated grips whill.e being thinner than Thinsulate.
And they're only $150. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

How do you all stop the rain running down the arm of your jackets and into your gloves?
My gloves are waterproof BUT get filled up on the inside from the water off my jacket (textile)
I did think about putting the sleeve over the glove but would then get water up the sleeve of the jacket.
It only happens when its raining hard (most of the time in winter here) or in slow moving traffic (again most of the time)
Is there something on the market for this or am i going to have to invent it???

Same thing happens ot me on my RS.
I think the solution would be to have the bottom of the jacket sleeve have a double sleeve you could put the gauntlet in. (Should I patent this idea?) _________________ 93 LT (x2)

With the tourmaster synergy heated gloves, there's a inner tube with an adjustable tie. It helps, but is not completely waterproof.
Usually what I do with regular gloves is put the jacket OVER the gloves - which is the opposite of what you normally want. Over the gloves allows wind in. Under the gloves allows water in. _________________ M N B

Rob, that does work.
When dressing for a hard rain, I go about it like this. (assuming pants and boots are already on)
1. Helmet first
2. Gloves
3. Jacket
The best rain gloves have a full-circumference webbed wrist closure and drawstring gauntlet. Ideally you want to form a "Z" connection between the glove and sleeve.
I'll try to explain.
Next to your skin; should be the inner drawstring gauntlet of the glove.
The next layer, the liner of your jacket.
The next layer, the outer side of the glove.
Then lastly, the sleeve of your jacket.
The "Z" pattern keep rain from being forced into your jacket by the wind and keep water from channeling into your gloves from gravity. _________________ 1993 K1100RS aka The Shop Whore

I don't mind the cold but when dressing for a hard rain, I put on a jacket and climb in my pickup truck. _________________ Jim

I'm with you. God made cars for a reason. But sometimes when touring rain is a factor. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Guess i need to look for another pair of gloves, mine only have one layer and no drawstring
I was thinking about trying to make something out of a pair of waterproof trouser legs to come out of the jacket and over the glove.

I have these, which have yet to leak.
http://www.aerostich.com/catalog/US/Aerostich-Triple-Digit-Rain-Cover-p-16447.html
Between the elastic cinch at the top of the gauntlet and the strap at the wrist, they seem to do the job. The longest I've tested them in hard rain has been about two hours - all was dry. Handling of the grips is a bit less sensitive, but not bad. Kinda' pricey, but less than the cost of a decent pair of waterproof gloves. _________________ tlp

I use the lobster claws (Triple Digit Raincovers), too. Large for summer gloves, extra large for winter gloves - they haven't leaked yet. The hi-viz orange is kind of fun - they only had black when I got mine years ago. _________________ Jim

Just picked up these:
With this:
And this:
From here:
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/
For Grand Total: $120.97 delivered.
Going to try it out for winter.
If it doesn't work I'll hold onto it until I get my dual sport, but I think I will like the MC helmet and goggles for winter....no fogging and good face protection. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

Regular scorpion helmets don't fog. They have specially treated visors. But after a year or so, mine started fogging. $50 for a replacement visor. $35 for an untreated visor. _________________ M N B
