i headed to the dealer and purchased a fork seal. Replaced the weeping one then rode this morning to see if the new one leaks... YEP!
Question. I used to just replace the fork seal on the 2 valve K bikes, however it seems to have more things to replace on these 4 valve fun machines. Do I need all the stuff that the parts man was insisting?
Can anyone give me the diameter of the fork tube? Been looking around the websites to figure that out as well.
take care, thanks

Be sure to use a Fork Seal Driver. Ask your parts person for one. I don't think they cost much. _________________ 1993 K1100RS aka The Shop Whore

Or the old seal that you take out. It's free. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

No, Gwen - you don't use that in place of the seal. You use the can to install the seal - it's the same size... _________________ Jim

Yeah, I figured as much about not using that instead of a seal.
The can size thing, I didn't know.

Took the bike out for a long ride on Sunday. I had thot the seal I just replaced wasn't sealing... however it must have been the extra fork oil around the new seal that had oozed out earlier...
No Leaks!
Used a plastic cover for that white teflon tape cannister for plumbing to tapped it home... Ready for winter now... IF it ever cools off.
thanks again
