Hi Folks - a quick update...
We went back to Hopkins for the surgery followup and good news - of all the biopsies (and there were a LOT after 5.5 hours of surgery) came back NEGATIVE so no Chemo necessary WAHOO!!!
We still will have quarterly tests and such but for right now it looks like we are hopefully in the clear.
I want to thank everyone for the public and private thoughts, prayers and well-wishes. I've always said that this is a very rare place, not because what is here but because who is here.
Thank you - thank you all.
And a Happy Thanksgiving! _________________

I guess the world is full of sad coincidences.
Last week my wife was also diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and on Monday my department was wiped out and I was laid off.
Surgery is on Monday, please include her in your prayers/good wishes!

Good God - my thoughts and prayers are with you. Above all be positive and have hope! I know well that there have been simply amazing advances in the treatment of Ovarian cancer just in the last few years.
Contact me for the name and contact info of one of the top gynecological oncologists you'll find anywhere (and if you have BC/BS, his hospital Hopkins is a full participating partner.) _________________
