Man do I hate Dunlop tires. Almost biffed yesterday. Coming home from CA my Azaro rear was getting pretty low. I have a PR2 that I bought and left in CA but I found a Dunlop to get me home in Grants Pass, OR. I fugred I'd ride on that until I help my dad drive back from CA and bring the PR2 home with me.
So yesterday I was out riding in front of a guy who was test riding the K100RS I' sold him. I decided to wick it up on a moderate sweeper. Halfway through the turn, heeled over pretty far and the friggin' Dunlop let go for a millisecind and then wobbled the rear a few times before I finished the turn. It was over quickly and I rode it out but it wasn't fun. I have to be careful until I get the PR2 mounted in May.
Prior Dunlop experinces:
First big tour on the LT and I was running out of tread in PHoenix. Instead of dropping major coin for Metzlers at the BMW dealer, I found a shop that had Dunlop 205s in the right size and a decent price so I bought those.
About 200 miles later I was out in the open country and could get up some speed. Anytime I approached 80 mph the bike started wandering all over hte road. So I had to do Utah at 70mph. A thousand miles later in Salt Lake City I found some Mac 50s and chucked the Dunlops with only 1,000 miles on them. I was SO happy to get those tires off of my LT
And before that:
Caught a nail in the front and had a flat in the Yukon Territory. Got that patched up and made it to Fairbanks. The only tire the powersports shop had up there was a Dunlop 491. Within about 2,000 miles that tire was cupped and shimmied the front end at about 45mph. Had yo be replaced
I will NEVER. EVER, EVER put another Dunlop tire on one of my bikes.
Rant over. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

I've NEVER been a Dunlop fan. My choices are #1- Michelin #2- Metzeler #3- Pirelli. I have some Bridgestone BT-45's on my K now that I am tolerating.

I have no history with the other Dunlops but I'm trying out Dunlop Roadsmarts and I'm pretty impressed with them so far. They are equally as good as the Z6's I had on before both wet and dry and loads better than the Z4's prior to that. _________________ 1980 CB900FA

When I bought my bike it had Dumblops on it and the front cupped badly. I asked at the bike shop and they said it was from not taking enough corners. Two sets of Michelin's and no cupping at all. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

I lived in Grants Pass for a year when I was in my mid-20s, and my greatest regret was not having a bike while I was there. There are SO freaking many great rides out there, whether you're on a repli-racer, a tourer, a sport-tourer or a dual-sport, there are just ludicrous numbers of awesome places to ride.
Don't get me wrong, New England's not bad, but it's got nothing on the northwest for places to ride. _________________ 1993 K1100RS

Now we Know why you call yourself Flying Duck as you are desperate to get airbourne. Why not enjoy your riding and get some Bridgestone 020 or 021 They work well and you get very few nasty moments
The important part is you are undamaged

As this is my first k1100rs I bought Dunlop Roadsmarts front and rear.
very good tires so far. but where I live there are no twisty roads
I have two curves on the road ride to work on and they have the yellow truck slow sign 40 but cars can go 55 of course i like to go 60,65 in the turn tires hold really good wet ot dry no problems. _________________ In the words of the stones
