|

When I check my spark plugs the front cylinder appears to be burning perfectly (lovely clean plug) whilst the other three appear to be running rich (excesive carbon build up on the plugs). Can each individual carb be adjusted to give the correct fuel/air mixture? _________________ Rolfieh

By adjusting the BRONZE screws you can synch up the air flow thorugh the throttle bodies. You'll need a vacumm oomparative toll like a TwinMax or CarbTune. Screw the first one in all of the way, back it out 1 and a half turne, then synch 2,3 and 4 to that. Your bike will run smoother as well. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

But this just synchs the bodies so they are working in unison. It does not change the fuel/air ration to the carb. On my old cars I was constantly checking the fuel/air ration with a colour tune that allowed you to view the colour of the flame in the combustion chamber. Not sure if anything similar is available _________________ Rolfieh

You're not supposed to mess with the screws with blue paint on them. If you're changing the amount of air while the fuel flow stays constant what happens to to the air/fuel ratio?
I'm not a carb/FI expert but I synch my TBs often and my plugs generally look pretty close.
I'd run a couple tanks with Techron concetrate through the fuel system and see what that does before I messed with anything other than the TBs. Like I said, I'm no expert on carbs/FIs though. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
