Along with the shock I mounted the CATZ amber lights on my 93 K1100RS. Used Drakes tips, but got my hardware locally. 7/16" Stainless steel tubing, used 3 1/2" long 1/4" cap head bolts, with stainless washers and internal star washers on both sides of the light tab, held on with stainless jam nuts. Also short section of same tubing between the ears of the lights. Just cut all those from one 12" section. Used heat shrink tubing to cover the wirning from the lights to under the black fender trim, connections to the main harness are under there as well. Used a blank on my dash & cut out the middle with a dremel, then used black silicone to make the switch water resistant on the sides & underneath.
The lights are amazing & so far, no one has flashed me the brights. They really light up the road surface and the sides of the road. Other drivers really see you coming! They also light up the interiors of cars next to you really well. Like when your coming along side someone, you can actually see right inside the car, no glare back off the windows. Drivers have started to pull out on me and now jump on the brakes.
Came home the other day after work, my wife had just pulled in the driveway, she saw me coming in traffic from 4 blocks away! Maybe a 1/4 mile, but in daylight and in traffic! She did not know it was me till I rolled up, but she saw the lights & commented, " Are those your new bumble bee lights? " becuse of the yellow/orange color. too funny.
Get these lights if ya can or have not added auxiliary lighting yet.

I'm not surprised - they really stand out from the crowd. The HD guys seem to have some good orange lights too from what I've seen but nothing like these. The only downside is that you stick out to LEOs too. Sad

Yeah, hard to be highly viable AND hide in plain site at the same time.
But, that's why the switch is sooooooooooo handy.
I've been behind, to the side, and in front of LEO's a LOT already. State patrols & county mounties too!

None have hassled me. I went out for a ride last night & took those pic's. It was St. Patties day, Milwaukee county had a HUGE push on to watch, stop, and arrest impaired drivers.
I drove it like I stole it, and although I got looks, even at 15 over, that's all I got. One shakdown daylight run had me going by a state patrol at 90 indicated, but this was right over a rise and the car in front of me was hauling too. The car braked, I signalled and went around them, left lane was clear. Just backed off to 80 indicated, so was doing about 74MPH in a 65.
The SP did not come after me, lucky ducky me. Next rise, sson as he was clear of my mirror, back on the throttle hard. CATZ lights stayed put in a 20MPH wind at 120MPH indicated. Clear dry road, yes, I know it's irresponsible, no other traffic and no I did not pass anyone at that speed. Braked back to about 80 indicted when I caught the next car. I think I may have scared them.

i have encountered lotts o leos by day and lotts o leos by night with the catz lights on... they are always on... the leos take a hard look everytime... im thinking not for revenue generation... more out of curiosity than anything else...

the key is to aim them low so they cut off at bumper height of the car in front of you... if you do that they will be bright enough to get the folks attention but wont shine in the eyes of oncoming traffic or the eyes of the cars in front of you...

i have been pulled over twice by myself and twice in a group... the leos not once took a closer look or asked about the catz lights...

happy motoing...
