|

Hi Guys,
AC at Realm has asked that I should be the initial point of contact for orders.
This will save time and eliminate any queries. He is NOT a Beemer expert and his main core business is sports cars.
So, if your initial orders /enquiries come to me I'll deal with all the technical aspects relating to the bikes and then Realm will send you an invoice and you pay them direct.
It will save any possible confusion and should speed the process up.
OK?

I have one.
I have done some reading up on the various options, and one think that jumped out was the so called"tailor made " shock, made to bike weight, rider weight, type of use (sunday afternoon local road cruiser, or boy racer) and so on. How does RAM-shocks fit in to this ? |

Tmoons,
No problems - just send all the relevant info. and I'll pass it on to the guys that actually assemble the shox and you get back what is effectively a custom made shock. Simple eh?
BTW - there is no additional charge for this service, just select the length of shock you require and that will give you the cost.
Realm will confirm the price via an invoice sent direct to you once they have all the relevant info.

Thanks,

Hi John,
initially just send me all your details - I will iron out any queries and simply pass the completed order to Adrian [ same day ], then they will send you an official invoice and payment details. You pay THEM direct and they ship your order.
Two reasons why I'm involved [ a Realm's request ]
1. I can verify that the customer is a K11OG club member [ for the 10% discount ].
2. AC and the guys at Realm are primarily into designing and building sports cars - if there is a bike specific query, I can deal with it and then simply pass over the final order. It saves them time and ensures a speedy and troublefree order system.
Nothing really any different - you are buying the shock from Realm and I'm vetting your club membership. The initial specs check is just to save Realm and you time. Hope that clarifies things

Now, now, I hope that was in jest!
Question for you Beachcomber, I'm debating which RAM shock to order and I'm wondering if the "high perfomance" one is worth it for my riding style. An honest opinion would be appreciated.
I'm a fairly easy rider, no peg scrapping here, but I do like to ride briskly and fairly quick. I'd say I'm about a 6 (occasionally a 7) on a scale of 1 being a trike and 10 being Duck. Also, I only weigh about 180 lbs. (82 kilos) with full gear on and almost never ride two-up or with a load of baggage.
Would I really get the full use out of the HP shock, or would the regular one meet most of my needs?
Input appreciated. Thanks. _________________ Steve

Steve - the answer is no - stock RAM shock is MORE than adequate.
The only reason I ordered one is - vanity [ and a little BS ].
My track day warrior pal screwed the cajones off my RS with the "standard" shock and was seriously impressed [ bike and shock ]. By the way boys and girls, this was in the safe environment of a closed race track facility with a professional rider [ OK you PC persons? ] - don't try this at home.
Don't forget Steve that even the RAM "standard" shock is Hi - Perf. compared to the OEM variety! Save the money.
OTG - I'm getting the hang of US humour now - way off beam buddy - it's closer to 30% !!!! Oh yea, and my new bike is an S1000RR.

PS - I DID suggest to AC that ALL the payments were sent direct to me to save him the trouble!
Good job I've known him for 40 years, or he might think I was serious.

Hi Owrstrich,
Several people have now requested PayPal facility.
I just spoke to AC about this and he's quite happy to accept PayPal, but he will monitor the costs which are approx. 1.5% higher than a credit card transaction.
So initially anyway, PayPal is accepted [ without premium ] - I guess that makes it simple all round and your purchase is protected [ £400 in the UK ]

Hey Beachcomber, quick question, when you order a shock, as I did last week, do they send you an invoice prior to filling the order, or not unitl it's ready ship?
Just hadn't received anything from them, wanted to be sure it was in process.
Thanks. _________________ Steve

Hi Steve,
I think due to time differences you may already have the answer to this!
This is what happens -
1. I go through the order to make sure there's no "bike" related queries and any options, specials taken care of.
2. Passed to AC at Realm the same day or within 24 hrs. depending on time differences, and I confirm club [ 10% discount ] status.
3. He goes through the order and makes up the cash invoice -
[ plus my 30% OTG Ha,ha !!!!! ]
4. Invoice is then fired over to you.
5. Irrespective of when the payment arrives the shock kit is either parcelled up and addressed ready - or if it's not in stock [ special order ] it's ordered IMMEDIATELY to save time.
6. Payment arrives - shock is sent.
Final reminder to anyone who orders, please include your PRIVATE e-mail address for the invoice to be sent.

Thanks beachcomber, I thought they'd want payment before putting together the order, but I hadn't seen an invoice yet. Could you make sure they have my e-mail and are working on it?

Steve - spoke with AC this morning. All invoices should be with US clients by close of play today.
That hasn't held up the shock order - just waiting for the red spring then all is complete.

Hey TJ, got the invoice today, paid it up, all set. Thanks for following up on that, I wasn't in a rush for the shock, just wanted to know it was in the works.

Hi Steve,
Glad to hear all is OK. Adrian is running around like a headless chicken at the moment with all the new C Type Jag orders.
I just fitted a 1" shorter RAM to my K100RS today - completely transformed the handling - in a GOOD way!
Bike now turns in without any need to force it in and feels absolutely glued to the road on long sweeping bends.
Ther's a bit of "test track" round where I live and I've been getting quicker and quicker [ braver? ] on one long left hand sweeper.
Today with the RS I went some 15 mph quicker than I've been before, and there's more to come.
I just fitted the shock and set it on #3 dampening and - transformed. I can also put both feet flat on the floor [ 29 1/2" inside leg ].
Add to that the sky was blue and the temperature 17 degrees [ C ] Nirvana.
