Flex fuel is also known as E85, it's 85% ethanol and our bikes most definetly will not run on it, do NOT put E85 in you tank.
The common 10% ethanol blend is not "flex fuel" , but is regular unleaded gas blended with 10% ethanol and will run just fine in our bikes, the jury is still out on negative effects on fuel lines, rubber components, etc.. I can't find any local gas that doesn't have the 10% in it.
My Chevy Silverado will burn E85, but it is not commonly available around here. Although we did just get one of the first public E85 pumps at a local military base station (that is open to the public).
It supposedly increases horsepower, but at the cost of mileage. I need all the mileage I can get out of my work truck and the 5.3 liter V8 provides all the power I need, and then some, so I haven't really been too excited about it. Not to mention it's (ethanol) driving up the price of corn which is also driving up the price of most of the food we eat. _________________ Steve
