My 1996 K1100LT just turned over 22,222 miles today. I suppose it's about worn out!
To celebrate, I rewarded it with an oil change. The previous owner gave me a couple of K&N oil filters so I used one of those. He also gave me the oil filter wrench that fits in the hole. I still need to search the site to see what everyone is using for filters... Gotta say the oil-filter-in-the-pan concept was interesting (or was that entertaining?) to deal with.

Yeah, Rod - it's worn out! You better sell it quick. I'll give you $1,299.00 for it - no questions asked. _________________ Jim

Oh, come on now... $1299? I just put a brand new mirror on the thing. And I must have spent at least 10 hours doing the paint on the mirror! It's gotta be worth more than that!
It was 95 degrees today. I rode a total of about 50 miles--mostly in town. Even with a vented jacket on, it was pretty miserable. I haven't ridden that much this summer at all, but I sure remember enjoying it a whole lot more last fall.
I don't know if it's the fact that my next door neighbor was killed on his Ducati last week or if I've just generally lost interest, but...
If it continues to be unenjoyable, I may very well sell it next spring.

Hi,
Do the Johnny blanket and the manual fan switch and you'll never sell it.
I can't beleave how much of a difference it has made with the temp, here in TX.
Thanks, _________________ 1993 K1100LT
