Gidday to all , wondering if anyone knows if k100 2v header pipes will fit a k1100 , idea is to fit after market muffler to them getting rid of the heavy one piece original and to open her up a bit .Pipes on the 1100 are 27 mm or 1 inch dia & the studs sit about 60 mm or 2-3/8 inch apart as best as I could measure with them on .Give us your thoughtsb on it Cheers AusBrickMick

I know that a 16v K100 exhaust will fit.

If you are looking for a exhaust try find-a-part: http://www.findapart.com.au/

Not sure if a 8v exhaust will though. Some else more knowledge may be able to answer that.

I have gone the other way- putting a 16V exhaust on an 8V. The engine mounting wasn't the problem, but the muffler mounting had to be dealt with.

The 16V exhaust actually improved the mid range torque of the 8V by a noticeable amount. I don't know what going the other way will do for the 16V engine.

I have an exhaust system with out an O2 Sensor which I belive is from a late K100 and I know it will fit a K1100. I am not sure if it is lighter then the K1100 with the sensor but it is a good place to start cutting. I am in the US so I do not thinnk it would be wirth the cost plus shipping to AU but it is somthing to think about.

I think you'll have issues with not having an O2 sensor to tell the Moronic what's going on - although it might be feasible to use a K100RS4V Moronic but then you'd probably have to swap wiring harnesses too.

Thanks for the input everyone, seems like the headers would fit so Iwill go ahead and pick up a set and experiment with them keeping my origanal k1100 full one piece incase its not a success. Our pollution requirement must not be as strict as the US my 92 k1100 doesn't have the o2 sensor I've got an old r1 muffler hanging around & some stainless welding rods will follow up with results Thanks AUSBRICK
