Most of you know our venerable, one-of-a-kind, master story telling, Ducati slayer, OTG rear-tire-threads-noticing, border patrol being, deer bowling, Cris Kringle-looking Spaghetti artist Phil Marvin is battling cancer.

Talked to John/Sugarhill yesterday and we brainstormed that even if most of us could not actually physically help Phil out in some way, we can certainly open up our coffers, loot our kids coin jar, turn in a few thousand empty cans and help Phil out with the universal sign of love, power, peace and social status.....money.

Thats right, you fkn n00bs, we are passing around the collection basket in our church right here....the K11 family. Now I know most of you MUST have some extra $$ laying around, owning those fancy Bee-emmm-double U Motersyckles and all.

It was my decision to have John actually handle the financial aspect of it...he will be along shortly with a paypal email # that we can kick off right. We considered having me be the treasurer for about 2.3 seconds, but 86-ed that idea when John mentioned that Phil would not have much use for receipts of the money spent on cigars, Wendy's and a rented kiddie pool filled with Jello-o. (don't ask)

In summary, John will be posting soon with a Paypal #. John will be in charge of collecting the $$ and getting it to Phil.

Give what you can. Phil needs all the support we can offer, both financial and emotional.

Hi, Dave and John and Friends,

Thank you very much for your concern. Your emotional support is Very appreciated. Your financial support, while very appreciated, is not NEEDED at the moment. Technically, I am still working, although I am on "short term disability" which pays me a little less than half my normal (without o/t) check. For the next 5 months+, I should be ok. While working, I am still covered by health insurance.

On Tuesday I'll go into the hospital (Methodist Hospital in Dallas, TX) for surgery to implant a port (for chemotherapy) and a feeding tube, because I haven't been able to get sufficient nourishment and this will not be affected by the blockage in my esophagus. I expect to be out of the hospital on Wednesday and starting chemotherapy the next week for 9 weeks. After a short rest, I expect surgery to remove what's left of the tumor, then more chemo. I hope to be able to return to work by the end of December. If I do, I'll still have a job!

My address (I'll be staying with my daughter while undergoing treatment) is:
Philip H. Marvin
c/o Marian Marvin
6518 Electra Dr.
Arlington, TX 76001

Thanks and Regards,
Phil Marvin

It's ok Phil....we'll keep it on the side for you, nestled safely in the Sugarhill bunker.
