Been meening to ask, what's with the movement of the rear trunk? Has anyone found a way to secure it from beating the passenger to death? I checked all the posts but didnt find a fix. All fasteners tight but the "plastic" has too much movement. _________________ k1100lt 94 46000 miles

A big spongy cushioned backrest. The BM ones are too hard so make yer own. Unless the back box is hard fixed to the subframe a la K12LT I think that the movement stops the box breaking something. I like the BM top box but it does flap around on the K11. Many other folk fit a Givi or similar which have solid contact with the tail.
Cheers

This post reminds me of a question - has anyone removed the tote box and found a way to install a back rest?
My wife hates the tote box - she loved the old Reynolds back rest on the R100/7.

Look at Dr Malacarne's thread - Riding Brazil - he had supports made to stiffen the top box brackets. I'm pretty sure that's where he posted about them.
http://k11og.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5140&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=90 Scroll down through the pix - you'll find the bracket. _________________ Jim

Thanks Jim! That's exactly what I'm looking for. That will be a nice winter project for my K11.. I'm sure it'll make momma happy too. _________________ k1100lt 94 46000 miles
