So, is there a way retain the Seeek and Volume feature on the switchpods after upgrading to a new radio head unit? The Blaupunkt I have has no CD drive--just a USB input, an Aux port, an iPod controller and a tuner, but I want to controll at least the volume remotely. Is this possible?
Will I be able to meld the wiring into the BMW's harness?
Rick

Hi luxustouring and welcome to the site Very Happy
Your link is brilliant, loads of good products and they certainly seem to have the connections we need. I've written to get more information as the K1100 lt isn't specifically mentioned.
Whereabouts are you in france?

Edit: in fact the K1100 LT is mentioned if you go into the pdf helpfiles. eg:http://www.ake-elektronik.de/motorbike-communication/motorbike-communication-system.htm

this is what the lovely Eva from AKE Electronic has told me is good for the K11 LT:

1 50102 Blaupunkt London MP48
149,00 EUR
1 51160 Radio rack, with impact absorption
81,00 EUR
1 51166 car radio power/ISO coupler
7,66 EUR
1 51156 interface for Blaupunkt to BMW remote control (R 1100RT)
143,00 EUR
1 51146 original BMW remote control (R 1100RT)
154,60 EUR
1 52002 antenna Autoflex Universal A-RW-08M
67,00 EUR

For other Blaupunkt car radios, please check at the Blaupunkt website (radio
should have the possibility to connect a remote control / RC10). When you
take a Blaupunkt radio with AUX output and jack plug connection then you can
use our Bluetooth Music Transmitter and get the music into the helmet in
stereo with Bluetooth.

1 39310 Bluetooth Music Transmitter
54,90 EUR
1 39360 Bluetooth Helmet Set 201
212,00 EUR

or alternatively with spiral cord
1 33348 Helmset adapter stereo to ISO connection car radio
38,30 EUR
1 31345 Helmet loudspeaker set HighSound w/spiral cord fixed to
helmet
74,00 EUR
1 31346 Helmet loudspeaker set HighSound w/spiral cord separable

I had a couple of Blaupunkt units that I used on my K75RT. They did not seem to very happy with being vertically mounted and were prone to skipping on bumps. IF the newer ones have better buffering technology then they might be better than waht I had.

The Pioneer head unit I now have in the LT hardly ever skips, only on realy rough washboard type bumps.

I think the radio rack is supposed to resolve that but maybe it doesn't... only one way to find out! Cool

The issue is that they're mostly designed to be mounted horizontally. asome can handle a vertical mount better than others.
