Yes, it costs every USA taxpayer $$$ to support those that cross the border. But all the other countries want you OUT. If you were looking for a free life- where would you go?

First off, who in their right mind would want to go to any of those countries. Next look at the governments running those countries. Opps, none of them are a Democracy, with any sorts of pretense of being "free". But we are. Now look into your past, your ancestors, are they all legal immigrants? I know that my wife had at least one illegal immigrant ancestor, running from the law in Scotland. So we good old white Americans are not so squeaky clean in this.

Ask yourself this. Would it bother people as much if the big influx was white Canadians, instead of Mexicans? Most of the hatred and vitriol is racially motivated.

Now why do they want to come here so bad instead of staying in their home countries? That is the problem we need to solve and our issues will not be so bad.

First off, we're a Republic, not a Democracy.

2nd I have no problem with people entering the Country Legal, My mother and Father in law we're Canadians. He fought in the Canadian Army in WW2.

You should hear their or ask them their opinion about immigration. They had to have money, and pass tests before they were given citizenship. (oh yea the test were written in English)

And before anyone starts, yes they have contributed to the American society, She retired as a School administrator, and He retired from Lenders Bagels.

My wife is a "legal" immigrant.

A common misconception is that everyone loves America and can't wait to jump a fence and come here. With my wife nothing could be further from the truth. She has stated more than once that if not for me she would be on the first flight back to Brazil. (a country which is having immigration problems as well)

But then again, she has a terrific family, a job/career and tons of friends. I suppose if my only prospects to support my family was crime or a job that paid a dollar a week I might try to move someplace that there was more opportunity.

The problem is not immigration per se. It's that many immigrants use the system that they do not pay into.

The world is overpopulated so don't expect the problems to get better anytime soon.
