Well I ended up pulling my fuel pump off twice. The first time I replaced all the seals and o-rings and all went well. I had checked the oil pump gear for some pitting on the shaft but it all looked good. Put it back together and it dripped coolant out the tell-tale. Took it apart and brought the oil pump gear to Bob's and talked to one of the mechanics there. He said the pitting isn't bad and would probably seal if it was the old style seal but with the new seal he wouldn't trust it. So after opening my wallet and watching the money fly out to BMW I bought a new gear put it together and it works fine. So if you are planning on doing yours and have a slightly pitted gear shaft it is probably worth buying a new one.
Also Thanks Mike for the videos they were great. What I need though is another computer in the garage so I don't have to keep going back and forth to watch them. _________________ Rich
