|
|
I just bought a pair of these forks on eBay and I see that they're a bit different from the RS forks.
Will they work on an RS?
The two problems I see are mounting of the ABS sensor and the caliper mounting points might be different. I can live without the ABS, but not the brakes (obviously).
I bought them because one of the tubes on my forks I just brought in for service is nicked near the top. A new top tube is $350 from the stealership, either way it seems like a good deal. _________________ 79 Honda CB750 trainer

They won't work.
Different diameter fork tubes.
Probably too long.
Brakes won't line up.
No place to mount the ABS sensor.
Different axle and spacers.
And a bunch of other reasons...
Resell them on IBMWR. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Crap. The guy had them advertised as fitting a K1100. Should have asked here first.
Thanks. _________________ 79 Honda CB750 trainer

If he listed them for being for a K1100 then you have a valid reason to cancel the transaction.
I'm surprised he listed them like that. He sells lots of BMW parts on eBay and should know better. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Additional info: it doesn't seem like a real show stopper. You can file off the offended nick (dealer said he'd do it) and then fill in the nick with some JB Weld, then polish that down so it's even with the surface.
I have to learn to dismiss a lot of what these guys say. Capitalism without conscience is not a good thing. _________________ 79 Honda CB750 trainer
