Any recommendations on wheel bearing remover sets that work on BMW K-bike rims?
A quick search of the internet provide two removers from Pit Posse and Motion Pro. This appears to be easier than trying to find the right sized standard bearing removal clamps. Does anything recommend either one of these sets?

Paul Glaves (Oilhead Tech Guy from BMW ON) told me he uses this puller from Harbor Freight. Both of the other sets works as well. However, for $13, this should work well with the help of a heat gun.

I heated my wheels and tapped the bearings out with a drift. Now that I think about it, I used a special drift that I made to get them out. A puller might well be easier. I suspect you'll need a press to install the new ones. I did. _________________ Paul - '93 K11/12RS (sold), 2002 R1100S BCP and '03 RC51 KOG 29

Not that I've ever done it (replaced bearings) but I've heard that tossing them in the freezer overnight prior to installation helps. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

I do plan on freezing the new bearings overnight. I know Paul has told me in the past that he uses a large socket that measures about the same diameter as the bearing. _________________ Ken Krumm

Remember to check the ABS sensor gap when reinstalling the front wheel. New wheel bearings can change the gap and make the ABS behave with unpredicable results. DAMHIK. _________________ Carl |
