Hi,
Well after a whole lot of hacking and dremelling, I got the whole thing apart. I'm sure it never saw even a photograph of grease, when it was built!
With more drilling, I got the stuck bolts and captive nuts out of the way.
Quick trip to a local bike shop scored me a good fistful of nuts and bolts of the correct sizes, for free! Many thanks to Dave and co. at Z-Power!
On assembly something sat a little wrong and despite doing things slowly and carefully, I knackered the top millimetre or two of a thread in the hanger.
I left the job alone and had a mug of tea. This was about the last hanger in the world, for my bike, according to MotorWorks, So I needed to chill a little and think...
Twenty minutes later, I'm down at the workshop of the chap who MOTs my bikes. He also builds his own race bikes and racing sidecar outfits. One quick tickle with a M6 tap and I was on my way. I got home and left the job, as I had other stuff screaming for my attention.
Today, I reassembled the whole setup. Everything slipped nicely into place and bolted up just nicely.
Guess what? Yup - the flaming brake light is stuck on!!
Anybody have a clue what I've done? <Penelope Pitstop voice> HAYULLLP!
If it's fiddly stuff, I'll just yank the bulbs and trundle up to Roy Gardiner and let him sort it, because I'm getting the arse with it, to be honest. _________________ Fr Jack

DON'T PANIC, tis a common occurrence. First you should understand that the micro-switch is held OFF by the lever. Therefore when one depresses ones foot the switch makes. When I did mine, the finger missed the pedal, all that was needed was to push it back into place. Should be do-able without stripping anything.

That would be the "finger" sticking out of the MC/switch? If so, I prodded all that into place as I tightened the pedal bolt. I'll have a poke in case tightening moved it.
Thanks for the pointer. _________________ Fr Jack

Can you hear the slight click when the switch trips when the pedal is depressed? Similar/identical sound to the switch on the front brake lever. _________________ K1100RS Special Edition 1997

Hello,
I had written up a diagnostic a while back. Perhaps it would help you troubleshoot

I don't believe I did, now you mention it.
Hard to check, just now - I'm away from home.
Guess I'll be taking the plate off and prodding some more, soon. _________________ Fr Jack

FIXED!!!!
Needed a bit of bending of metallic bits, but no shouting...
Must have got a bit mullered, when the peg dropped off.
Now to charge the flaming battery! _________________ Fr Jack
