Todays ride was the to the Vaal Historic Motorcycle Museum, its about 110 boring kms from Joburg.
Not a nice ride, possibly 80km down a freeway and the remainder on potholed back roads. The museum is actually a B&B run by a member f the Historic Motorcycle Group, they built a small but very interesting museum onsite.
General view of the museum.
A Honda CB500 classic racer arriving.
A Renault 1300cc V4 bike, it doesn’t look like a home brew hybrid, only the French could dream this up.
A Masarati two stroke, never knew they made bikes before cars.
A real nice Duke 450cc
Cracking Velo Thruxton
An even nicer Vinni.
Never let the appy work on your Triton, what an interesting mod.
This is the only bike manufacturer from Rhodesia ( AKA Zimbabwe ) only 29 were made before the death of the company owner. The bike was intended for farmers.
Interesting poster. Just for Drikko
More young beemers before the boobs sagged.
Novel fully automatic speed camera foiler.

Thanks Malcolm, looks like the ultimate girl friend there
Trying to get my head around the revgersed head on the Triton. Doesn't that mean the cams would be running in the wrong direction? They'd have to be reprofiled to suit wouldn't they? Yhe only benefit would be short straight exhaust and some ram air effect I guess. Other than that why? WWhich begs the question, why are bike engines in general around the way they are anyway? _________________ K1100RS '97

I have spoken to the owner of the Triton.
He's from an engineering family, and not short of cash, so could experiment. He wasn't giving much away.
I wondered if the head would fit reversed, or if the ports were modified to take carbs and the exhaust.
I'd expect the cam profiles and timing need extensive work.
There may be more advantage with getting the exhaust staight out the back than a little ram air effect.
Did you notice the pic of his workshop, very impressive.
Edit..Hmmm just noticed I didnt post a pic of their workshop so here it is.
