Hi Chaps,
I'm new to this forum, so bear with me if this has been asked before.
To make my LT a little less 'buzzy' and because I've always lamented the absence of sixth gear, is there a higher ratio final drive that could be fitted?
I've scanned the 'nerdnet' and have had trouble finding ratio specs.
I'm also assuming that gearbox ratios are the same across the models, but I could be wrong (no stranger to being wrong, me!).
This is my 5th K and I've never had a blow up, break down or drama.
There has never been a finer bike build by man, IMHO.
Wonderful forum, chaps.
Long live the 'K'. |

You can use the f/d from a K1.It tops 208 km/h in 4`th gear on the
gps and close to 225 km/h on the clock. My k11lt tops 245 km/h on the dyno.

Your LT likely has a 2.75:1 ratio. The tallest that will fit is a 2.54 from an R1200C. Almost 10% reduction in rpm at any given speed, should raise the "buzz zone" about 6mph. On mine this would up the buzz from about 67 mph (actual)/72mph (indicated) to about 73 mph actual/78 mph indicated. My speedo reads 5 high per gps.
Good news - there is a FD already set up in the for sale postings. _________________ 2012 R1200RT Midnight Blue
