IMO even DUI checkpoints violate the Fourth Amendment. This crap is worse.

I don't think this would pass muster in WA state as even DUI checkpoints were ruled a violation of our state constitution by our state supreme court.

Officers can still profile bikes anyways though.

How ridiculous, all you need is for 100 Hells Angels to turn up at once and trash the place....

It probably wouldn't in fact it would make it worse, I wasn't being that serious though. Still think it's a dumb idea.

If they issue citations for straight pipes I'm all for it. I'm sick of listening to a**holes on Harleys with straight pipes - the noise pollution from those is stupid painful and I can't believe we've put up with it this long. Some of those jerks have no problem waking up entire neighborhoods on their way to work at 6am every morning - one example of where this whole "personal liberties" thing has gone too far.

I have no problem with vehicle inspections - for safety, emissions compliance or proper mufflers.

I completely agree, however I feel that most of this stuff is a money grab by the state that targets a specific user group.
