Most of the world is poorer than us, most of them can't afford hobbies, I have bikes, boats, cars galore.

I've got more problems than you can poke a stick at but none of them life threatening like those in difficult places to live (xstans), been jobless for a while but back at it 150%, school fees to pay, awesome but occasionally moody kids, ex wife keeps screaming at me, dad's just been diagnosed with a relatively easily cured prostrate cancer, I can see retirement on the horizon so am working harder than ever, despite all this I am bored totally shitless...! Don't understand!!!

It's so sad really.

More beer and hopefully Shogs can beat the boredom out of me, note to self, get some permanent markers or a bottle of toluene on way home tomorrow Smile

Couldn't give a rats about Fosters, don't you know no one drinks Fosters in Australia? That would make is a Firken Fosters

Boredom (and depression) are far more prevalent in the rich countries. It's what happens when you are one or two layers of abstraction from the reality of providing the basic necessities for yourself such as food, water and shelter. Unfortunately more than 1 Bil people on this planet still don't have access to clean drinking water, not to mention regular meals and/or sewage facilities. Or safety from rape and murder.

You are correct - our problems are trivial.

Your bored because you have no purpose, or rather you've lost it somewhere.

Find and pursue your purpose, whatever that might be (e.g. race bikes, paint pictures, make music or understand quantum physics...) and you'll never be bored again, ever.
