You mean like this?
Testing an idea. The c-clip the fit the seat pin is a PIA.
1. the clips often fall out.
2. The ones that stay in, when I need to remove the seat, are a bitch to remove and replace.
So, this is what I did tonight.
I'll grease it up tomorrow and see how it works out. _________________ 1993 K1100RS aka The Shop Whore

Do Canadian keyboards have Shift and Enter keys?
Are you talking the seat hinge Gwen pictured or the post on the tail cowl that the rear of the side panel clips too? _________________ 93 LT (x2)

biker7, don't mind the Duck, he's just got his feathers ruffled 'cause he wasn't picked to be Aflac mascot.
But I have to agree with the Psychotic Waterfowl, I wasn't sure which one you were talking about either. _________________ 1993 K1100RS aka The Shop Whore

| Hi again guys.Yes canadian keyboards do come with shift and enter keys we just have a hard time using them. Thanks for the great pictures of the seat hinge but that isnt it. I think Flying Ducks description is better than mine, it's the post thats on the tail cowl that the rear of the side panel clips to. There's one on each side of the bike, its that post thats missing that's what im having trouble finding. Sorry for any confusion I hope this help's, and I hope someone can help me. Put a bolt through there with a washer on each side and a nut on the forward side and then put some vacuum hose on it. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Good morning...
I "think" what biker7 means is the side panel rear clip. I simply got a 6mm long bolt and cut off enough thread so that 1/2 inch thread remained. Then I cut off the bolt head after 'screwing it into the hole left by the missing rod. I used Gorillia glue on the thread tip to secure it after insertion. I next placed a suitable length of surgical tubing over the shaft.... voila, it works fine !!
Hoakey, but it was my solution to the missing retainer rod !

Error Alert !!... I meant to say a 6mm dia bolt appx 3" in length so that there would be enough unthreaded serve as the smooth rod surface.
OK now ????
