I found it. This short film was posted a number of years ago on another forum.
Romantic short movie happening at night in Rome, with a deaf girl who missed her train. Made with 4500+ still photographs. Shot with a Canon EOS 30D camera.
A dream revisited.

Live Action animation essentially.

Using a nice SLR provided excellent detail in the images, too.
