Posting here, 'cause it's not really a heavy tech issue.

Walked out of the house today, to be met with a strong smell of gasoline. Wet spot under the bike, oh hell, what now?

Turns out, the overflow tube disconnected from the tank, and I had filled up before parking it the other day - so there was a slow drip of excess fuel being sqeezed out when the tank got cold and shrunk a little last night... all over the electrics, transmission, and sub-frame.

Freaked me right out for a moment. Now I gotta go get a hose clamp for it and re-seat the tube tomorrow.

Lived to ride another day.

My first K75, affectionately and appropriately nicknamed "Fireball" had the decency to let me know the prior owner had REMOVED the cup under the tank by erupting in flames as I left a gas station and was motoring up an on ramp. Nice Harley guy stopped who turned out to be a mechanic and all that was needed was a little electrician tape on a ground wire.

Good to discover these things the non-flame way Smile
