Been using your forum for a while in the shadows, and very useful it is.
I have had 2 k100's in the past, RT ans RS, only replaced to something "tidier".
My first K, the output shaft went, so I changed it, man what a headache....
Recently I bought a k11 rs with a slipping clutch, just stripped it down and found the friction plate so worn, that the pressure plate has a groove worn from the rivets on the clutch plate The rear seal seems fine, but the "O" ring was hardened. Should I replace the seal? Its a year 1995.
Anyway, a couple of issues I encountered on getting here.
(1) One of the absII lines from the main unit looks as though someone chaffed it with a grinder while removing the battery holder... My question is how thick are these lines? or whats the internal diameter?
(2) The motronic unit under the seat seems to have one of the pins replaced with a smaller one, it seems as if damage has happened in the past, the giant scart type connector looks charred on the corresponding pin. Though the bike runs fine.
Maybe photos would help for diagnosis....
Thanks in advance for replies _________________ Luck is when planning and opportunity meet |

Hi slippery,
Welcome to K11OG! Or at least to non-lurkerdom.
Definitely replace any rubber bits while you have it apart - that will save you taking it apart again.
If the brake lines are original, it's probably time to replace them anyway. They deteriorate inside.
Pix almost always help with diagnosis. _________________ Jim

Jim, I think he's talking about the metal lines to the ABS control unit. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Hi, Slipperyox,
Welcome to the K11OG. I once lived and worked in Ireland, in Galway and later, Roscrea (Co. Tipperary). At the time, I rode a '76 R90/6. I rode it all over the country and some other parts of Europe. If you ever get to Maddocks Motorcycles in Bray and know Paddy, Janet and Sheena, give them my best. I was there in 2003 and saw them then, but haven't been back since. I've known them since 1977. _________________ Ride Safe,

My thought would be to replace it if there is any damage to the line. Your local brake shop should be able to make one to sample for you for not too much money. _________________ David, owner of:

I bought stuff about 10 years ago off Paddy, spoke to him on the phone, sound guy, if I speak to him again I'll pass on your regards. _________________ Luck is when planning and opportunity meet |

I could make a copper one up myself assuming I have a flare end to suit, but I'd prefer steel.
If this line goes(leaks) will I still have brakes? or does the abs unit shut down? cant find a decent camera so used a phone cam..
Oh, and this is the motronic where someone seems to have added a pin from the other side

The ABS controller faulting (indicated by ABS lights when riding) only means you don't have ABS so you're left with non-ABS normal brakes.
If you get a hole in that line then you won't have any front brakes.
The lines need ISO flares on the ends. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Welcome aboard! There is a pinout diagram somewhere in the tech section that will tell you what that pin does. Personally I would say ID it for info sake then leave it be if all is running well _________________
