After closer examination, it appears that I'll need to replace the front fork tubes on the 95K11LT as well as the seals.

Has anyone used those provided by Forks by Frank?

Also, since I'm going to have to do a complete disassembly, what other seals or bushings should be replaced in the process as preventive maintenance? I do have a set of gaiters to install when all is done.

Thanks

Larry Johnson

Called Forks by Frank and they don't make them for the K11LT, so that part of the question is null and void.

I'm still interested in what other components should be replaced when I do install new tubes.

Fork seals and drain plug O-rings.

Be careful putting the drain plugs back in as it's easy to strip the threads.

Howdy Larry,

You might try a BMW recycler for a good set of used forks. I have had great luck with:
http://www.kbikeparts.com/
http://www.re-psycle.com/
(those are my two favorites)
also try
http://www.beemerboneyard.com/
eBay
IBMWR.org
and the BMWMOA.org marketplace.

Thanks, Ted. I think I'm going to be out of luck: Drake has none; there are none on BMWMOA and IBMWR or Beemerboneyard. I'll drop a note to the other recycle place tomorrow.

Looks like about $400 for a set of stanchions. erg.

Thanks again.

I'd check the top and bottom bushes just to be on the safe side...

Larry,

I have a spare set of forks that would love to find a new home. We're out on a ski vacation but I can send u pics when I get home this weekend if you are interested.

Sonu: Wonderful! I'll hold off doing anything until I hear from you.

Thanks!

I have a set of forks from a 1997 1100 LT that I replaced with a leading link fork for sidecar. They look good but I think they are leaking a bit.
I als have wheel, brakes, fender etc.
