So I get up this morning, need gas, and my gas lid is stuck. I pull, I pry, I cajole, and finally get it up. Filled tank, then it wouldn't latch. Something seriously amiss, so I bring it back home. Disassemble. Phooey. I don't see a way to rejuvinate it, it looks like a spring is missing or something... but the play in the system is so big, there's just no saving it.
Up on the center stand, two layers of press'n'seal over the hole, and I go inside. www.beemerboneyard.com, look up a K75/100/1100 fuel tank cap w/key, $75. I order, and choose 3-day shipping (I'll be out of town the next couple days, but don't want to wait a week or more).
I get an email about 1/2 hour later, saying "Hey, we're in NJ, regular shipping will be there in 1-2 days. Here's some money back."
Booyah. I love those guys. Bought a pack of filters while I was at it. _________________ www.tidewaterforge.com |
