Woke up this morning to -30F (that's -34C for the rest of the world). BTW, that is temperature only, NOT "windchill"
Hope others in the frozen north are keeping warm.
Hopefully riding season is about 2 months away.

Apropos of nothing in particular, the expected temperature here tomorrow is going to be around 37C; almost too warm to hop on the LT 
I can't imagine a temperature that much below zero; wtf makes you live in a place that cold? I know, the same reason that has me living on an earthquake fault line (but not like say LA).

Just think, if it were 62 degrees warmer it'd be freezing.

I know it's just numbers, but I also realized that it was nearly a 100F degree difference between inside our house and outside.

No, but I felt like that this morning 
At these temps if you throw very hot water into the air it just disappears into vapor- nothing comes back down.

Hi John...
Feeling very sorry for you up in SugarHill.. down here at the Lake we had a balmy -23F. Not exactly "beach weather" but "sunny and still" takes the edge off the cold a bit. If it DOES get any colder however, will have to button up the Makinaw I guess !!

 Hey, it was a heatwave here this morning, only -10F. And we are supposed to get up to a balmy +20F today.

He means air conditioner - refrigerated variety in Qld cos of the humidity. OTOH mine has been running much of the last week (evaporative cos it isn't humid here)

Eggnishner comes from a wonderful book called Let Stalk Strine. It is an OZ dictionary of sorts written in the 60's. For the language aficionados here it makes for great reading:-
