Florida renta bike?

Postby hirschhs » Sun Nov 15, 2009 1:56 pm

I have a 2nd cousin who is 90 in March 2010, she remembers seeing Hitler marching into Vienna.. anyway she lives in Lake Placid, Florida and we're thinking of going over to visit for her birthday. Does anyone know if it's possible / feasible to rent bikes (as opposed to a car) in Orlando? It's a long shot but I thought maybe someone on here might know. We'd really like to have a look around while we're over...

You might try these guys http://www.eaglerider.com/

There has to be more than just that though. I'd recommend siging up and posting over at ADVrider. There's a TON of riders over there and if you post in one of the regional forums you should get some good info.

looks like the kind of weather we're used to over here jo!
Thanks for the offer but I don't think we'll have the time to do the 1100 miles or so each way needed - unless we can move Iowa a few degrees south.
 But it would be a fantastic run... 8)

Steve.
Eagle rider is fine.
I rented a Gold Wing last year in California, and I believe they have BMW for rent, too.

NOW you're talking :D

Steve- great plan- just a cautionary note- the few times I have been down in that area I seem to remember that the drivers were pretty INSANE  But have a great, careful time.
Perhaps Endoman could give you advice??

Hi, John,
I didn't tell you when I was in NH, but I was raised just north of Orlando from age 9 to age 20. I learned to drive there and got my first license there. Does that say something about my riding!!

Phil,

Raised in Fla., sure- but with all the miles (especially in '09  ) you have accumulated- those bad habits are long, long gone.
