New member saying hello

Postby eric johnson » Wed Jan 20, 2010 11:13 pm

Hi everyone,

Newbie from NY checking in. This summer I bought a '94 K1100LSE on ebay and have been enjoying it quite a bit. Missed my old 85 K100RT that I had for 10 years and put on 80K or so miles. I really bonded with that bike and was hoping the newer LT would be everything the RT was and more.

So far so good!

Looking forward to shooting the bull with you folks...

What the hell is a "94 K1100LSE"?

Some sort of RS and LT mutation?

Got any pics of your bike?

Hey Eric..!

Welcome from New Hampshire Lakes Region and the entire NH delagation ! Hope to see you and your new "1100KSLTZ silver thingy" or whatever, this May during our "K11OG" get together in Marion Virginia... see the Meeting thread under HM-lll or HM-2010. ALSO, do not delay in ordering your official "K11OG" T-shirts. We only have until Feb 15 to do so. Penalty for failure to comply is a forced sleigh ride with Salt Creek ( see pictures ) in beautiful and perpetually snowy NH !

Welcome....welcome.... a thousand welcomes !

Speak for yourself, John. I wouldn't think the lobster community would think we are harmless!! :D

Eric, maybe you can meet some of us at Hungry Mother State Park in Southwest Virginia (Marion) this May. If not, I may be passing through your area later in the year. And, needless to say, if you (or anyone in the K11OG) is passing through or near El Paso, let me know!

Can't speak for upstate, but down south it's been pretty mild in the low 40s with no snow other than the dumping in late Dec.

I haven't been riding the FZ-1 because its basically a naked bike, but I have been offroading with the KTM.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

Looks like this is going to be a fun place to be! Sorry about the typo it is a K1100LTSE if I'm correct. SE as in special edition which means the original owner probably paid too much . bmw-) Don't know alot about this model, but that the bags are pretty until the inevitable scratch will occur.

I picked up this bike from the Malcolm Forbes estate in Far Hills, NJ as they were selling off some of the bikes in the family's fleet. It only had 13,000 miles and was kept in heated facilty under the care of thier mechanic. It was pretty cool visiting with them and checking out the 20 or so bike they still currently have. Malcolm passed away quite a few years back, but apparently the family still rides quite a bit.

The bike is like new (even the grips are still tacky ) and I have been enjoying it.

I'm located about 65 miles north of NYC in the beautiful hudson river valley, about 30 mintes from the CT border and Lime Rock Park raceway. I'm a huge vintage racing fan (have GT40 replica and 1966 Lotus 51 FF ) There are many excellent biking roads in this area, and I love living here.

I'm looking forward to participating in the forum and again thanks for the hearty welcome.

I'm going to try to attach the only picture of the bike I have
