Can anyone tell me if any USA Police force has ever used a BMW
K100LT OR K1100LT and if so is there anywhere I could get a photo of one in full Police trim
I know many used the R1100RT etc - But I have never seen a K series one and wondered what the colour scheme would look like
The K100 AND K1100 had been used by UK Police forces before many switched over to the Honda Pan's (ST1100/1300)
Any information or links to websites would be most useful
Thanks

well, it's actually neither, but South Carolina state troopers did use K75RT. see here: http://members.fortunecity.com/statepdcars/sc.htm
also, CHP trialled the k75rt once, before buying R1100RT's.
I don't see a picture online at the moment, but these k75's were all white with the CHP star on the upperfairing and a gold contour stripe. the radiobox just had the lettering california highway patrol in gold.

Interesting picture of the "R110". It looks like they didn't even bother to paint it a police color. They should be black and white for better visibility. to us.

You should have asked this question about 10 years ago.
California Highway Patrol was test riding K1100LTs for a few years. The officers loved them so CHP went and bought R1100RTs. Go figure. _________________ Mike Gullery
