They're really more of an overpant that I wear over jeans. They're black and made of Curdura type ballistic nylon. I bought a pair of these for $43 shipped from NewEnough a while back. They're pretty simple overpants but exactly what I was looking for. Inexpensive, waterproof, CE knee armor(Which actually seems to wrpa aournd the knee which is nice), soft hip armor. They don't have an insulating liner but they do have a taffeta nylon lining. I think these are good basic pants and a good bang for your buck. So, if you're looking for some good basic pants for a decent price, I'd recommend these. NewEnough now has XS, Small and XXL for only $32 (less than Levis) and other shops have them in the $50+ range if you need a more common size.

Yeah, I need to stay away from NewEnough.
That place is just sick. Last week got pants for the wife and new leather armored gloves.
And check out this helmet I saw:
99$ for a full face Icon Alliance SS Solid Rubatone Helmet (XXL only)
It's sold out now. But I couldn't buy it anyway since I just picked up the HJC. Imagine me trying to explain that to the wife. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

those tourmaster pants are a heck of a deal...
i gotts the tourmaster gx air jacket and venture air overpants... the tourmaster stuff is good stuff for the price... good armor...
when my stuff goes south im gonna spring for the motoport kevlar... no more liners for me... kevlar mesh all the way with rain / cold overpants and overjackets... but we are on a spending freeze so it wont be this year... nothing this year... especially gear...
i tried on the icon helmets here locally... i like them but they dont fit my head... im thinking scorpion 1000 or kbc ffr... they fit dang near perfect... but nothing this year... especially gear...
about newenough... we got most of our stuff from them... we tried on locally and bought online... the place is nice because they have very detailed pictures and real world reviews...
we do support our local shops... my wench get her dainese pants and boots locally... and some gloves too... thats about it...

I read a bad review on those helmets. Keep in mind you DO get what you pay for when it comes to lids. Those supposedly have a design flaw in the shield release where a part slowly sticks, making the shield pop off every 3rd time it gets opened all the way. |

Having a debate about this on ADVrider.
This was my take:
As far as overall protection, construction and impact dispersion is pretty much universal in all DoT approved helmets. (there are currently no Snell approved modular helmets) So you could get a Caberg Trip for 200$, or pick up the Justissimo for double the price.
What you are paying for is the look, the name, the venting, weight, etc.
If a helmet is DoT approved and a full-face, is it "skimping" on protection to buy a lower priced one?
Or, and webBikeWorld says:
| Quote: | | The Zeus 508 can be had for around 84 bucks, including shipping. That $84.00 buys a lot of helmet. Granted, all things are relative, so let's face it: we're not claiming that the Zeus 508 is comparable to, say a $500.00 Arai (and Arai doesn't even make a flip-up!). But improvements in motorcycle helmet features come in small increments. Wearing a $500.00 helmet is nice, but how nice? Is it $400.00 nicer than a hundred-buck helmet? Will you be able to tell where the four extra C-notes went? |

when it comes to buying a helmet, you just have to sit down and figure out what your brain is worth. _________________ Jim

I also got a pair of TM Jean pant for overpants, nice for mild weather. The adjustable-height knee armor is a bonus

+1 on that. I just bought a leather jacket and gloves for my S.O. Both at a great price. _________________ Mark Rooney

I sort of believe that
"The amount invested in one's helmet is directly proportional to the value of its intended contents,"
but that's strictly intuitive, not based on rational analysis.
Must be why I don't own a $600 Schuberth. _________________ tlp
