I've got a local guy who has an 86 K100 with a dead title. (LONG story.) Anyhow, his bike is an 86 K100 (not sure what flavor) and he's looking for a frame with clean paperwork to use on this bike. I've got a good K100RS4V frame that I'd like to sell him
Does anyone know if this is possible? How about the people who have put K1100 engines in K100 frames?
Can anyone tell me for sure if the geometry of the engine mounts and bellhousing mounts are the same? I know all of the K bellhousings are the same and from using a K100RS4V paralever tranny on my K75 project that all of that should work. Just woried about the engine mounts. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

As you may know, I have done the opposite. Putting a two valve engine in an 1100 frame is just as simple. The two valve bike is a good donor for the parts you'll need. If you just use the 1100 frame, everything off of the other bike should bolt right up. Some minor bracketry may be slightly different, but I would guess that nothing is a show stopper.
Look at how the rear of the fuel tank is mounted. If it uses the two pegs to locate the rear of the tank, you are ok. The '85's like mine used a single bolt with a bolt on crosspiece on the frame. I think that changed to the later system on the '86 models.
