Yes she was, great girl, and from what I learned of her family and culture, very friendly, food, karaoke and family oriented people. Laughing

Sorry to hear about your mishap, Don, and am glad you're healing. What happened in Canada?

I piled my bike into a ladies passenger side door in a (big) parking lot in my home town doing about 30 MPH. Fortunalely there was no blood or broken spinal cords. The state insurance company (Peoples' Republic of Saskatchewan) has yet to determine value or level of damage, although they've tried to lay blame on me for the collision. I'm not taking it laying down.
I fear it's going to turn into an ongoing saga.

riding season will soon be here - but you still have time to replace all those rusty fasteners.

Chris Powers at Desmoparts has kits for the K11RS and the K11LT. Desmoparts: http://www.desmoparts.com/ .

Chris is a really great guy, and runs a first class operation. He's also a fellow biker. I don't know about his ebay sales, but if you buy from Desmoparts, you get free shipping worldwide (or at least that was the setup the last time I looked).

Because stainless steel fasteners are not as strong as steel, there are some bolts and screws that can't be replaced - mostly suspension, steering and brake related - but most of those are out of sight anyway. Unless there's been a change, Chris is getting most of the stainless hardware from Italy.

I was a little concerned that the stainless might not look quite right in some places, but actually, it looks great. Some of the fasteners on my bike had started to rust - stainless is a vast improvement! I highly recommend this kit.

I pulled various parts from my two K11s and my project K75 and was able to do three bikes for about $75. If you have the time and have a local store (Tacoma Screw Products for me) that has patient salespeople and good inventory, it's a fairly simple project.

I've also seen Jim's bike. Iif your'e looking for a plug n play solution delivered to your door, Desmo's prices seem very reasonable to me.

Jim, does hte Desmo kit include the pegplate bolts?:

Drake - nope - didn't include those. The BMW kit is $55.00 delivered to your door - http://www.desmoparts.com/bmw/index.htm . Probably one of the cheaper things you'd ever put on a bike.
