|
|
I've read many times the the red dot in the oil sight glass is the median level for oil in my K1100rs. In the book that comes with the bike and Clymer's it states that an oil change with new filter takes 4qts. and an oil change with out replacing the filter takes 3.75 qts. When I do either of these services the oil goes completely to the top of the sight glass. Is having the oil all the way to the top of the sight glass OK. and it that the recommeded level for the oil?
Thanks |

3/4 max on the sight glass.
Don't go by the manual.
Fill it with 3 quarts, take it for a spin and fill it up till it is up to 3/4 on the glass when the bike is warm.
Make sure you are patient when filling, takes a few secs from pour-sight glass. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006
