I want to wire in a manual fan switch before my upcoming ride to Salt Lake City to watch the World Superbike Series over the last weekend of May and was wondering where is the best place to tap into the fan wiring to make a sano install?I might not need the switch as just yesterday it was still snowing really hard here in the Rockies.

Somewhat of a pain to accees but I did mine on the fan side of the connector.

I believe others have tapped in near the fan relay in the fuse box.

Which is BEST? Got me.

It depends if you want to add neat fine gauge wiring for a permanent job, or clunky cable for a one-off job.

I do not know the precise rating of the cooling fan motor, but the fuse (#7) is rated at 15 Amp to include the twin-tone horns.

Let us say it is 50 watt.

This gives an operating current of 50/12 = 4.1 amps. Allow 20% for a start-up spike, and you have 5 amps flowing.

You can go direct from the downstream side of Fuse #7 with a 5 Amp switch and cable, or onto the low current side of the fan relay with any switch you like, and a cable rated around 100 mA.
