The flippen flexible hinge on the bottom of one of my saddle bag let go!
Both of them! Looks like 2, one front & one rear.
Any body have an easy fix? Are those hinges replaceable? Kinds looks like it, but ya never know. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

To re-attach them, use 1/8" dia. rivets with a 3/16-1/4 grip range. Steel rivets work better than aluminum. If you've never riveted before, it's easy, just buy a home "Pop-Rivet" tool for about $15 at the hardware store.
When drilling the old rivets out, be careful not to let the rivets get too hot or you will melt the plastic. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Hey Duck.
It's that long hinge on the bottom, it's like a flexible piano hinge.
The plastic part that flex's broke. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

Sorry, I thought this was about latches - my bad.
The hinges slide right off to each end - front one comes off to the front, rear one slides off to the rear. Getting them to come off is initally a little hard as the have a notch in the to keep them from coming off. I use a large screwdriver and a hammer to slide them off. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Thanks!
Got them ordered from the dealer.
Little bit nervous, last time I tried to go there, I got run over on my 1994 RS
Your right on the red seat thing too on the replacement bike. I'm already sick of it. It has to go but quick. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

I know this is the wrong answer, but when I drill the lock rivets out, I drill at an angle (45 degrees) that way the ally is cut, but the rivet is less likely to spin & if it does it's a lot slower. Also when I replace them I always use washers on the back. _________________ Regards Tim,

I need one (pair) because the duct tape the PO used has failed on one side. Being cheap, I'll use Gorilla Tape. This stuff will repair anything!
Best thing to use on ripped/torn seats too. _________________ Current Bikes

I'm going to get a couple rolls & stash some on the bike.

FYI I suggest adding a pair of hinges to your tool bag or tail storage compartment.
You'll not regret it when you need them. DAMHIK _________________ 1993 K1100RS aka The Shop Whore

Duct tape will get you home if they split on the road. Been there, done that. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

A couple of these in the tail cowel will hold a lid on in a pinch! And better than gorilla tape or duct tape.
Ride safe

My local (Hollywood) wanted $9 EACH. $36 is a bit much for the set. _________________ Current Bikes

First, we'll add new hinges, then we'll duct tape it, then we'll use JB Weld and straps... _________________ 2000 R1100RT
