This kit is made for the Suzuki GSXR600 and SV650, which, like our bikes, are notorious for fork seal failure. I ordered a set, and it fits my RS. Cost was $24.95 +shipping for the two guards and hardware.
It shields the critical area from frontal impacts from debris, insects, etc.
To install this kit, there is no disassembly of the bike required. I also suspect gaiters may increase heat deterioration of the seals in hotter climates, whereas these will not (just my theory).
Plus it looks better on the bike than gaiters.
In a few months I'll follow up on this post if there are any issues with these.

The fork guards look great. In fact, they look like OE parts. I'm going to install a pair to replce the neoprene guards (with velcro closure) I installed on my RS. _________________ 2000 R1100RT

Rydor:
Thanks for paving the way. I already have Race Tech springs and gaiters for my LT but am not going to mess with my forks until one of the seals goes - not worth the effort and the bike rides very straight so I don't want to risk messing that up unless I have to. Gonna get a set of these in the interim - which will probably make my forks leak the very next week.
How much did they charge you for shipping? I hate sites that ask for your credit card number before they let you know what shipping is.

Hi Drake / Guys,
Their online ordering is down so if you're planning to get one of these call Mike at (770) 592-3823. Just picked up a set. Shipping to California was $15 via UPS Ground (5 to 8 business days).

rydor, how reputable is Traxxion? I ordered a pair of fork guards about two weeks ago. When I called Traxxion today, they said they had my order in the system, but didn't know why the part has not shipped. If I can fiind the guards elsewhere, I'm going to call them back and cancel my order. _________________ 2000 R1100RT

when you order a part you need right now - it'll take weeks for them to get it to you. If you order something you don't really need - it'll show up right away! _________________ Jim

All I know about this company is what is on their website. I ordered mine online and recieved the product in less than a week, never having spoken to them. I hope everyone who orders these has as painless a transaction as I did...
Geoff, did they misplace your order or did they charge your credit card and not send them? I wouldn't have posted this if I thought any of us would get screwed. Please let me know how this plays out.. |

They probably got overwhelmed with orders after this post. I've seen them in person and they are way sweet, they look OEM.
I'm going to order some, but I'll wait till the rush is over. _________________ Steve

I tried to order some yesterday. However, the final confirmation screen for my order did not appear. (I htink it was my PC, not their site.)
I emailed them to ask if my order had been processed. Their return email said my order had been processed and is shipping today. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Same thing happened to me. Their website is flaky.
I hope it went through, as I am now waiting for a new Cee Bailey, Racetech Fork Springs and now these fork guards.
Thing is, I used Amex and they are slow to so I have no idea if the order was placed. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

Send them an email like I did. Here: info@traxxion.com
FYI: I just checked my debit card account on-line and they charged me $32.61 total. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Drake got this response today:
| Quote: | David,
We are having trouble with our website, but I was able to retrieve your
order. Unfortunately, we are out of stock of the fork guards. I should
have
some in stock in a week or two. Do you want me to leave your order in
back
order status, or cancel?
Thanks,
Dan |
To which I wrote back:
| Quote: | Dan,
I am not surprised they are on back order. The guards
fit 1993-1997 BMW K1100LT/RS bikes as well, and our
website of K11 riders caught wind of this fact.
Given that they look 10x better than gaiters and
require no disassembly to install, I am sure we
deluged you with orders.
Keep it on back order and surprise me in a few weeks,
it will be like Christmas in June.

I have a feeling the folks at Traxxion will add the BMW K-LT/RS to their application list for the guards. _________________ 2000 R1100RT
