i was coasting to a stop and felt a vibration i had not felt before...

i feel it in the bars and in the seat... a slight rumble... a slight vibration... reminds me of kind of as if i was rolling over a washboard...

heres the deal... pull in the clutch and down shift to first... with clutch pulled in and rolling at 20mph slowing to 0 mph...

the vibration happens at 10mph down to 5 mph then goes away... it only does it within this criteria... only with clutch pulled in... only coasting down 10mph to 5mph... in both 1st and in neutral... didnt try 2nd thru 5th...

it did it once a couple weeks ago... thought about it... disregarded it as weirdness... didnt do it again until yesterday... then it did it 6 of the 10 times i tried to duplicate it...

i have searched the k11og and the ibmwr... nothing so far...

anything to worry about or just weirdness...

I'd put it up on the center stand and spin the rear with the engine off. See if you hear a funny noise coming from anywhere.

Then I'd try it with the engine runing if that didn't work.

Since it happens at 10mph, try recreating it in a parking lot without a helmet (GASP!) again listening for where it might be coming from.

I'd also see if there's a difference between a front brake only stop and a rear brake only stop.

If none of those worked, I'd sell the bike before it gets any worse. If the buyer notices, just say "It's always done that." (And be sure to put "AS-IS" on the Bill of Sale.) Laughing

I think I would find a downhill grade steep enough to maintain speed and experiment speeding up, slowing down and maintaining steady momentum.

As FD says, no helmet or gloves, really feel the vibes. Figure out if from the front, back or in the middle. Brakes, bearings?

i still does it... only when going slow... only when clutch pulled in... it is definitely coming from the drive train somewheres...

i donts thinks its the tires... it could be... 50% tires or 50% chupacabra...

I had the same problem just before my driveshaft failed. Please check
by turning the rear wheel by hand.It is not a god thing to have a driveshaft failure.

How di your driveshaft fail? Was it the rubber or did a U-joint fail?

It was the rear U-joint,one bearing with some metal from the u-joint
was found in the swingarm.I had to pay 100$ for a used shaft from a bmw shop.
