Hey group...
can anyone recommend a protective riding pant... that I can zip on and off really quick...
that is lightweight... breathable maybee Gore-Tex?
Padded protection...
Waterproof too?
Im in Florida, and I ride year round... I wear a Joe Rocket ballistic mesh jacket... A Nolan N 102 full face flip helmet... Steel toe slip on boots, and alway full jeans/pants....
But I would like protective pants... but I want something that I can wear shorts under, and zip off when I get to work...
Also because of the intense heat here in Florida.. I dont want something that is insulated or not breathable...
any suggestions, or links to garments, would be greatly appreciated....
thanks...
Bill in Florida....
PS... I see about 50 motorcycles a day, on my way to work and home... while Im out riding around...
Most are Harleys, and such....
I see a few BMWs here and there....
But you would NOT Believe... How many people I see, every day.. Riding without a helmet... sometimes two on a bike.. no helmet... Matching black leather outfits, or the Harley matching tshirt and sunglasses... etc....
Some people I see are riding in shorts.. no helmet.... FLIPFLOPS....
Also, I see an increase in people on these Scooters.... with no protection of any kind...
It can be 99 degrees out, with 80% Humidity... and I will always wear my helmet, sunglasses, Jacket, Ipod, boots... no matter what....!

Bill-I wear a pair of Fieldsheer textile armored pants in the summer.
It's basically a pair of shorts with knee and hip pads. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

I wear on a daily basis TourMaster Venture AirPants. Very easy on and off even over riding boots. Comes with rain liner and a quilted liner.

This is what I wear. Zips to the inside of my jacket, legs zip all the way up the sides. Armored, rainproof.
The only thing that I don't like about them is there is no pockets, and only one pocket access zipper.

I thought about that after I uploaded the pic. But, afterall, doesn't BMW stand for "Bring More Wampum"?. _________________ Ride safe.

I've used all the following and have been happy with them.
1. BMW Venting Machine
Very cool / windy riding pants.
2. BMW Santiago
One of the most comfortable I've had.
3. BMW Light N Easy
Too hot for summer riding, otherwise good. _________________ 1993 K1100RS aka The Shop Whore

I have a pair of Olympia air glide pants that I just love. Armor and air flow, nothing better. _________________ 1997 K1100LT
