|
|
Folks
I have just ordered a 5" overtall LT screen from one of the leading aftermarket screen makers here in the UK.
I didn't know they did one, but their catalog lists one amongst all the sportbike stuff.
I've ordered one to try out, and will report back. Produced in 6mm, it is thicker than the majority of the competition (this is good, unless the manufacturing process introduces a lot of strees marks.
Is anyone potentially interested in a group buy ?
Price will be about £60 plus P+P, which is much better than prices from Woodys, etc. _________________ C1 200 (2001)

Not at this stage, that's why I've ordered a sample
As soon as it lands, I'll fit it and report back with before/after shots. _________________ C1 200 (2001)

Well, the screen arrived today, and I am impressed
The quality of finish is excellent, and there are no abberations anywhere.
Even the curved areas are perfect.
I went for the tallest, which is 5.75" over the stock screen :
BMW OEM
Thickness 6.3mm (0.25")
Height 350mm (13.75")
Width 635mm (25")
Replacement
Thickness 5.2mm (0.20")
Height 495mm (19.50") (+5.75")
Width 635mm (25")
Here are a selection of before/after shots :
On the road, it feels just about spot-on. I'm 6'2", and this lowest setting sends the air over my lid.
Available in clear or light smoke, and any size between stock to + 5.75"
Let me know if you are interested _________________ C1 200 (2001)

Have done just over 800 miles now with the new screen - wow, what a difference.
I use a Schuberth C2, and can now ride flip-up in peace and quiet. Things actually get worse if you raise the screen, which now acts as a barn door (similar to the old airhead RT screens)
I have requests for two screens, need another three before I can get a decent discount and reduced shipping costs. _________________ C1 200 (2001)

That's about $117.40 USD - at today's rate. I'm sure the group buy will be cheaper - then you have to add for shipping.
