Just as a matter of interest, how much does Gas cost in the States (and other countries) at the moment.
Here in Ireland it's up around €1.30 ($2.01) PER LITRE whilst Diesel is around the €1.40 ($2.16) mark in most stations.
Strangely enough, the powers that be over here always blame the American economic downturns/upturns/sideways turns for rising prices here.... _________________ '95 K1100lt

It is speculation, pure and simple. Would be nice if we could overcome the objections to massively raising the collateral requirements for speculators. _________________

Doug,
Probably sounds as if we are cry babies over here, since we pay about $1 per litre (US $4.25/gallon) and complaints are everywhere.
As a country, we are spoiled and very addicted to cheap energy- look at the size of vehicles we drive. It isn't rare to see a single person driving a Chevy Suburban (about 3 miles/litre economy).
We need to rethink our energy use. I will avoid the other side of the equation (oil companies) to keep this post civil.
Good luck.

I can relate to that, I used to be one. I used to own 2 of those full size Suburbans.
Now I'm down to a pickup, to pull the camper and boat, a minivan, to haul the kids, and the K, for as much other commuting as possible. _________________ Ride safe.
