Ok, after extensive testing up to an indicated 140Mph (Pipe and slippers? Ha!), I still can't see any point in the wind baffle hinged to the front of my bike.

Am I doing it wrong? Can anyone show me the point of this seemingly useless piece of plastic?

Loosen the big adjusting screws. Push it all of the way forward. The tighten the adjusting screws.

Then go for a ride without it installed.

I'm short, so keep that in mind.

I find it very useful. It breaks up the laminar airflow so that it's shightly turbinated.

The best example I can think of the difference between the swift laminar air flow over a planes wing and the votices produced by the passage of said airfoil.

The votices have a lower air pressure thus the effect is decreased wind fatigue experienced by the rider.
